My experience is that Tie-up can be a symptom of a problem.
My horse Shatirr tied up chronically in the late '80s, and after tons of research
and work with vets, I had him adjusted by a chiropractor and the tie-up stopped
completely. A few years later he tied up again, the chiropractor said he was
fine, but a through exam uncovered a subtle high suspensory injury. I laid him up
and haven't had a problem since.
