Some legal cautions on do it yourself. The freeze marking system of Kryro
Kinetics can only be done by their certified technicians. Part of what they
do is check registration papers and compare the markings on those with
actual horse to reduce the risk of fraud. They have exclusive rights to the
symbols used. You can, of course, freeze brand with a ranch brand provided
you register that brand with the appropriate authorities. In most states
there is brand board, but in some states like Texas, registration is done at
the county level. Ranch brands are not unique to an animal, all horses
branded under the same ownership receive the same brand. Branding a horse
with an unregistered brand is a criminal offense in many jurisdictions.

It is unfortunate the Kryro Kinetics has such lousy service because there
system has a number of advantages - including the uniqueness of each brand
to the animal and the use of horse's registration number coded in each
brand.
