Just another one of those wonderful last minute "problems" that ride mangers
have to deal with...One year when I was putting on the Blackfoot Valley Ride
the Forest Service notified me four days before the ride that I would have
to cancel it because grizzly bears had been seen in the general vicinity of
the trail...I begged, pleaded and even offered my youngest daughter(Whitney)
as sacrifice to the Bear Gods...they let me go ahead with the ride..but only
on the condition I warn everyone at the pre-ride meeting about the bears.It
went something like this "Oh, by the way, some grizzlies have been spotted
on the trail.  Have a great ride!" ;o)
