Re: bareback pads
One Caveat....
Although the bareback pad makes it easier on the rider, I am not sure that
it is all that good for a horse to carry a rider 50 miles or more with only
a bareback pad. I know that some riders have ridden endurance rides
bareback, but doesn't the horse need more support? After all, a saddle
distributes the weight over a larger area and thus relieves pressure from
only one spot on the horse's back. I would be interested in comments from
knowledgeable people about this subject.
