I thought Astro Aries & Les Carr "won" the great trailer race with 5005 
miles in one year (1988). Aries career mileage was over 12,000.
I think Trilby used at least 3 horses that year. But Rushcreek Lad had 
18,215 career miles according to the 1999 yearbook, which should put him on 
top in that category.
