I think it's pretty common for the horses continuing on trail to get
priority if there's a line in the checks. We try to do it that way in the
Central Region. Yes, it does take more than one vet, even for a small ride
(That's where loop rides are a blessing.) Even so, sometimes the vets all
get busy if a horse needs treated somewhere. It is best if the manager or
check personnel spell out who gets priority so the rider's don't have to
ask. Of course, there's no excuse for outright rudeness. The miles and hours
do take their toll though, and at 65-100 miles I'm not usually not too
chatty! <BG>
