Weiser River Rail Trail
This late season ride is coming up soon. Since this is a new ride we have
no past info to plan for numbers of entries.
We would really appreciate anyone planning to come letting us know. We are
not taking pre-registrations, but an e-mail, note, or phone call would be
helpful.
There will be plenty of easy access parking just off Hi-way 95 at the
Washington County Fair and Rodeo grounds in Cambridge, ID.
Cafes and stores are close.
This is a railroad grade, so there are no hills. Most of the way is fenced
on both sides, so it will be pretty hard to get lost! The most challenging
factor will be some rocky footing as much of the original rail ballast is
still there.in quite a few places. Strongly suggest pads or Easy Boots.
There are some bridges, they are wide enough to drive across, newly
planked, and have side rails. Most horses seem to have no problem, since
they are so solid feeling. After all, they held up trains <bg>
We are hoping for a good turnout as the ride is a fund raiser for the
ongoing developement of this wonderful trail. There is a good possibility
for a point-to-point multi-day in the future.
Thanks for any info you can get to us.
