Re: RC: [Fwd: Training ride today]
Your horse is getting his nose up because he is getting his hind legs
strung out behind him instead of keeping them underneath himself and moving
in a round frame. I would consider doing some long lining at the canter to
develope this horses balence. Go and buy some fat(3/4 - 1 inch) rope and a
couple of snaps to tie to the ends. You will need about 50 ft. A coupl good
books on this are
longeing & Long Lining the English and Western Horse by cherry hill and 101
Lungeing and Long Lining Exercises by cherry hill. For teaching balence
while riding try 101 Arena Exercises by cherry hill. For teaching rider
balence try Centered Riding by sally swift.
Also if anyone is interested in an EXCELLENT book on conformation try
Horse Gaits, Balence and Movement by susan harris.
