Sue,
I just picked up a nice, bright orange vest to wear over my winter jacket during hunting season. Very inexpensive at Walmart in the sporting goods section. I think the vest was $2.99. You could buy an extra and cut it to make straps for your stirrups or ankles.

Now that the days are getting shorter and we're doing more riding in low
light or darkness, we would like to get some reflective vest and some
straps for our stirrups or ankles (especially after the recent posts
regarding the cars at night!) Where would we find these items -- and are
there other things that we should look into? Any internet sites we can
order thru? We don't have a long stretch of road before we hit the trails,
but we would like to be more visible to the traffic for that first and last
mile.
