Re: children's saddles
My kids, when really little and were riding the Welsh pony started out on a
very deep seat, cheap but effecting tiny Australian Stock saddle that
Jeffers used to sell. It had a horn and poleys, and with a sheepskin cover
was pretty stable for them; also fit the pony.
At about age 8, both switched over to Sport Saddles, which is what I use on
all my horses. They are very comfortable in then and they fit all the
horses. I usually have the stirrups in the back position, which is much
more balanced.
