Hot Stuff also makes something called the "Bareback Buddy", which is a nylon strap used for mounting a horse bareback. It also wraps around the horse's foreleg. There is a handhold and foot loop. I just bought one last week and really like it. You could also use it to mount a saddled horse. After mounting, I secure mine to my bareback pad, which has tie-strings on it. I also made a sleeve for it.
