I would add that a Quarab with the quarter horse line built more to the
Thoroughbred type will likely be more successful in endurance due to longer
flatter muscling and less fast twitch fibers. The main reason Quarter Horses
in general don't make great endurance horses is that their physiology is
against them from the start. The heavy, bunchy muscling common to QH's has a
high percentage of fast twitch muscle fibers that don't have the ability to
adapt for endurance as well as slow twitch fibers, which Arabians, with
longer, flatter muscling, have more of.
