Tracey, you make an excellent point here. While neglect/abuse through
ignorance is just as painful to the horse, at least with a caring
rider/owner, one DOES have a chance of lessening future
occurrances--something that is often not the case with the "win-at-any-cost"
sort of person who may be "knowledgeable" in some ways but uncaring. It is
often nigh on impossible to convince the the latter that he might win more in
the long run if he does it right--he is already convinced that he knows it
all.
