mares & poop
--->Horses, mares especially do not enjoy peeing on hard ground - their

Welcome to Ridecamp, Leah.
I also wanted to add that I agree on this point. I usually make "rolling
places" in my paddocks - old bedding, composted manure, old hay, where they
will roll after a ride. They like to pee there, too.
It also helps to pick droppings up on a daily basis, as there are then other
places where they can "go".
