I have a pretty nice GPS.
It tells your (SOG) speed over ground. You can look at
it while you're trotting and see how fast your going.
It also shows your total mileage ridden, traces your path,
records altitude changes. You have to figure your average rate
of speed on this one.
I carry mine in a pomel bag.
The thing I DON'T like about my GPS is that the batteries
only last for 2 long rides (or about 8 hours). When the
batteries are low, the thing shuts itself off.
You really have to invest in a battery re-charger, or it
get's pretty expensive.
As far as I know no-one makes a chargable (plug in)
GPS, which I think is the way to go..
SO, when buying one, I'd put checking out the battery life
right at the top of the list.
