Human error

A very long ago I lost a mare a precious mare to me. To many she was merely 
another horse. I had her for 10 years and sadly she injured herself in her 
stable. A pipe from an old calf feeder was protruding out of the floor. I 
never could move it so I just assumed that she wouldn't bother to be around 
it. How wrong I was... I was working my colt one evening and despite my 
better judgement I left her in that stall while I worked my colt. When I 
came back to work Patches her rear right leg was bleeding the skin pulled 
completely from the inner thigh to the hock. 9 days in University of 
Tennessee was how long she lasted. I was so damn adimant about wanting her 
to be okay for selfish reasons that I didn't care that she was hurting. I 
was only 18 years old. February 24th 1989. Human error.
November of last year I lost my mare Baru. I competed one endurance ride on 
her and she did sooo awesome! I was certain that she was bound for glory. 
She was humanely put to sleep from a broken rear right leg.  from wire that 
I was certain was not there.. I had searched the field for any possible 
hazzard. guess what....there were hazzards I missed. again Human error.
January 15th 2000 I was cantering home and dropped my rein thought I had 
both in one hand. I had extremely bad fall it cost me over $12,000.00 just 
in medical expenses. I haven't added the income loss yet but it was 
estimated nearly $2000.00. but that was not All I have lost.. I have lost 
some will to go out for long periods of time on my horse and can't go above 
a canter. would love to gallop on an open field. I can't completely trust my 
horse, and she is still at that bonding stage with me. I would love to have 
that back again. Baru and I really clicked. Ansata loves men..and tolerates 
me.
So for those of you who thought I was to harsh or mean or just a plain 
jerk...because I said stupidity or human error and honestly WISHED something 
would happen to me and I still have the emails!!! Well your wishes came true 
several times.. these are just a few just small grains of sand to you but 
they are my human errors that I live with every day....So yeah I have lost 
two best friends and about to loose a third If I can't find time to click 
with her soon. So I am very aware of human error...I have been submerged in 
it!
