fires
Been getting so many questions about how it's going
with the fires here in Montana, I thought I'd give you an up-date...I know it's
not really endurance related---but in a way it is---I'm finding myself dealing
with this mentally allot like I deal with 100 mile endurance rides....taking one
mile...at a time---knowing that there is an end somewhere---just keep keeping on
and you'll reach the finish!! The cavalry got ambushed on it's way
here--we've got twenty fire fighters and two bulldozers to fight 5 fires
totaling 6,000 acres...the loggers have brought one of their big machine to our
house and will start building a fire line around it today--ponies are moved up
the road...smoke is so thick from darby Montana all the way up to flathead
lake(about 200 miles)...that we can't tell where the sun is!! Any one who's
ridden the Tevis , somewhere in the middle of the pack---in the choking
dust...that's what it is like...Sooo..I have a request...At 12 noon mountain
time...everyone at that exact moment---pray(to whom ever or what ever that works
for you) for LOTS of rain in western Montana..I know it will work...tell all
your friend to do it too..Thanks again for all the kind
words..Sandy p.s.---rain dancing is good too---but it only
work if done in the nude...in front of a mirror ;o]
