Hello to all fellow riders,
     We were as surprised as anyone to get the most recent email
regarding the Rocky Mountain Ride.  As we are sure you are all aware,
putting on a ride is a monumental task.  A multi-day ride is truly a
Herculean effort.  We have been unable to be in contact with Brad
Patterson so the specific details of what current situation exists is as
much a mystery to us as to you.  We are TRULY sorry for any
inconvenience this last-minute explosion has caused.  Because we are not
aware of the details of what is taken care of, what is left to be done,
and the nitty-gritty aspects of this ride since we have not managed it
before, we are supporting the cancellation in an effort to ensure
everyone is safe and no one becomes lost or in a dangerous situation.
The most important aspect in this or any ride is you and your horses
safety.   Also, as usual, we need your help.  Please contact anyone and
everyone that you know of who might be coming to the ride to let them
know of the cancellation.  Since we did not require pre-ride
registration, we do not know who planned to come and for which of the
days.  Not everyone has email and there are folks who are coming from
other states and activities who might not have access to their computer.
Sort of a pony express thing so we minimize the awful feeling of showing
to a ride that isn't happening!!!  Once again, no one could be more
disappointed than we are.  Linda's email is down so I will act as the
contact for responding to your email messages.  In addition, I will
drive to the camp area in Arlington on Sunday and spend the day to try
to catch anyone who does not get this message, either through this email
or your efforts in spreading the word.  We can not apologize enough for
the inconvenience and hope to reduce the hassle with your help in
letting everyone you know as much as possible for all.
