Re: posting trot
Perhaps you can work with your horse to lengthen his stride instead of
trotting faster. Sometimes if one of my youngsters wants to do the fast
trot tempo I will count in my head for them at a slower tempo, amazing
enough almost without fail they pick up the tempo I suggest.
On the other hand, my gelding Jay has such a BIG strided trot, it feels like
I can hang time for two beats, like slow motion posting but it works for us.
Good luck. Dawna

Subject: RC: posting trot

problem posting to the very fast trot without bouncing all over my horses
back. He's small but has a fast springy trot. I've taken to standing and
holding mane to keep my balance, but I suppose that's not good for the
horse. Is this a common problem with the faster trots, and does anyone have
any suggestions to help me get a more secure seat?
