Re: Riding after dark
I remember the one and only time my horse colicked (touching wood
frantically) and my vet was at his wit's end with him. He suggested that I
lunge Toc for fifteen minutes. This was at 10:30 at night and the lunge
ring is on my neighbour's property, so I had to walk Toc up the drive,
through the neighbour's gate, past their swimming pool and into the lunge
ring.
He was a perfect angel. I put it down to the fact that he never spooks (no
exaggeration : this horse doesn't spook) but maybe the dark had something to
do with it. I'll just point out, though, that I found it WAY SPOOKY!
