An alternative to immediately doing joint injections would be to have a
really super farrier take a look at your horse's feet.  Navicular changes
and pain can be caused by hoof imbalance, contracted heels, long toe - low
heel shoeing, etc.  A little work on his feet might go a long way.

p.s. A big thank you to whoever started the thread on feeding bread to
horses!  I started giving my horsess sliced bread that was a bit old, dry,
etc. and they LOVE it.  It's their favorite treat!  And it doesn't get
wasted anymore :-)
