RC: Re: Clicker Training
There's an interesting assumption by many grooms in Egypt that horses can't
understand language, so they use a variety of sounds instead. On the other
hand, having recently bought Radar who spent four years as a school horse,
it's taken him a while to figure out that he's only supposed to listen to
me. He was so used to voice commands that DIDN'T come from the rider, but
from the instructor, that at first we'd be trotting along and someone would
say something about walk or tell their horse to "stop that" -- even worse --
and the brakes would come screaming on. Drove me crazy. But he's a smart
little monster and is very quickly learning that there is only one voice in
the universe.
