I want to remind people that the original poster was not asking about a 
vicious stallion, but merely how to handle a specific problem, i.e. 
mouthing everything while being handled.  My responses have been addressing 
the idea of "beating a horse well, early and often" as a management 
procedure.  We are not talking about defending our lives here, we're 
talking about the justification of using pain and aggression as a normal
