vet checks
Susan, you did a *wonderful* job describing a vet check...out west. Most
of that applies in the SE, except when we're slinging water, and trying
to check pulse, yanking the horse, etc. we don't scream for a timer. We
turn and walk through a little gate, at which time NANCY GOOCH looks up
at us with the face of an angel...sort of as if you're looking at her
through one of those filters they use in movies...and you hear music, as
if Lynda the good witch in the Wizard of Oz is speaking very calmly and
she smiles and says, "I have you" and suddenly you realize, everything is
O.K. and you take a deep breath, and yours AND the horse's pulse comes
down. >g<
