I have some reservations about wetting the shavings. Evaporating water will
cool the shavings, but it will also raise the humidity of the trailer making
the horse less effective in cooling himself. I would rather see any water
applied directly to the horse will it will do the most good in cooling the
horse. Ice, of course, will have a substantial cooling effect.
