Iodized Morton's is fine. Sodium chloride is sodium chloride, doesn't make
a damn bit of difference where it originally came from, and those two are
the primary electrolytes you need to replace at home. You also need to
replace calcium, potassium etc, but they'll get that from hay. You don't
need to supply anything fancy at home. At rides, they won't have time to
eat enough hay and so then you need to syringe/supply more complete
electrolytes.
I prefer loose because while some horse can and will bite chunks off of a
block to get enough, I just don't see the need to make my horses develop
survival skills just because it's more convenient for me to do so. If the
salt is loose, they can get all they want, when they want it.
