Bridget,
I've only been riding 6 yrs myself and started on a greenbroke arab. We taught
each other. I bought another greenbroke 3yo arab and he is 7now who I ride
primarily and started doing 50's this year off him. 18 months ago we bought
another arab 2yo and have been working on ground training stuff and have started
him under saddle a few times now. He's just turned 4 and seems to be the
sweetest yet.
I like the young ones so there's less chance of them having a bad history or
being taught something you have to unlearn. It's a lot more work I'm sure, but
probably worth it in the long term. I guess there's the flip side to that as
well. If you get them young, you really can't be sure of what potential you're
getting either.
