Hi All - The abductor excercise is the movement away from centerline or legs
closed...think of them being "abducted...oh, no!" and the adduction is then
bringing your legs back together with resistance. (Adding them back to your
body).
Weight training is an excellent way for any gender or age to strengthen
themselves in a balanced way. Do get a trainer to help you though if you
are not familiar with it or you will either hurt yourself, be so miserable
you will not like it, or simply waste your time ( by not using enough
resistance, repetitions, recovery, etc.) Proper form is a must along with
good breathing!
Linda you sound like you have helped yourself immensely, great job!!! but I
had to step in and comment to those who might need/want more info.
