Angie, of course you are right.
The first 100 I did was a 50 mile loop you did twice. Well the horse was
absolutely awesome the first 50, then an hour break in camp. It almost took
forever to do the next 16 miles to the 66 mile check. Looking back on it I
realized that it was as much me as the horse and the horse was picking up on
my vibes of ohmygosh another 50 miles to go. We hit the check and both
perked up. We trotted most of the way to the 80 mile check and both of us
got stronger as the ride went on. When we pulled out of the 90 mile check,
the horse picked up a gallop and I was pretty much riding a runaway to the
finish
I am sure the horse's energy level was directly correlated to mine. We do
send messages and the horses pick them up.
