stops out to Tevis

I am wondering if anybody knows of places we can stop along the way out to 
Tevis.  We will be traveling I80 from Chicago.  I have a book from somebody 
on places to stop,(Thanks Peggy) but some of them are no longer accepting 
horses, like fairgrounds that I have called. I think we will stop in east 
Colorado and east Nevada or west Utah.  I'm not totally sure about the 
distance we can get each day.  We leave Sat. evening, July 8.  Any info 
would be helpful.  I was hoping to do this independently, but what are 
friends for,but to ask questions of?
