Tick stuff
Someone mentioned that the Front Line, Advantage, etc.(active ingredient,
pyrethrin), for dogs has not been approved for use in horses----I am
wondering if it is simply because no one has put up the $$ for FDA funding
to approve it in horses, whereas the "dog community" has done so????? In
which case, it likely is just as safe for horses as it is for dogs. My
vet has told me this is the case with a number of medications and things we
would like to use; it is not that they have been proven unsafe---they simply
have not been tested for this particular animal. Do any of the vets know
which is the case with the pyrethrins??? Perhaps it is actually not safe
for anything? Or vice versa?? Is dabbing it on more dangerous than
spraying it on??? (Pyrethrins are in my horse spray.) Claudia
