Sarah R. said:
Just a caution on the probiotics. As Lif pointed out,
the hind gut fermentation vat of the horse is a complex eco-system
involving over 50 species of bacteria and protozoa. Adding just
one or two "beneficial" species, especially if there is no existing
imbalance, runs the risk of upsetting that system.
Sarah:
Did the French paper state how much can upset the balance?
ALOT of supplements have the bugs listed as CUs..
(or something similar) which I beleive is the abv. for
"colonizing unit."
I wonder if the small amount of bugs that are now added
in supplements like ACCEL are equally capable of
imbalancing the system the way the French paper says
straight porbiotics can?
