I've been meaning to post this for awhile - my horse eats mustard
flower plants! I've never seen any horse eat those. He gets a balanced
diet with balanced supplements (all of the Grand products). He
isn't a vacuum cleaner when he eats - he is selective about what
he will graze on - BUT he will happily munch on star thistle,
fiddle neck, and I think what is morning glory (small creepy
plant with white flowers here in California). He must get really
confused - I let him graze, then start scolding him and ripping
plants out of his mouth when he picks up the bad ones. Shouldn't
he have more sense about what he eats? Also - someone was
commenting about the sharp thorns on star thistle hurting the
horse - Sorin loves thistle! He will very carefully bite it off
and veeerrrry carefully chew it. (Not the most mature ones - but
still very stickery!)
