short ride

I saddled up my not-quite-broke-and -a-bit-nervous-mare the morning...planning on a four hour quiet, slow relaxed amble through the woods...1/4 mile from the house had a VERY close encounter with a grizzly bear the size of  a house (or even bigger!) We came directly home...did not pass GO...haven't got her or myself desensitized to big bears...I've decided that picture you always see of John Lyons riding his very relaxed horse passed a very large bear is one of those paste-a-picture-onto-another-picture jobs ...:>)......
