I have a small battery operated pump that goes into the water tank.  I use it 
to pump drinking water for the horses at rides.  The pump is self-contained 
and the batteries are inside.  It use 3 D cells.  I will try to find out the 
brand if you are interested.  I bought it at a True Value hardware store.
