Feeding
Hi Carla- about feeding times etc - hey no biggie.. i only feed many
small amts at the ride - since it may appear the larger one or two
feedings were not in his best interest..
at home - heck who knows when they get feed.. they are on 20 acres ok
wild pasture.. and they feed from 9am up to midnight - sometimes i feed
in the an like 2 am before i turn in.. after i close up ridecamp and
ebay..
hehehe
i never put mine on fixed time feed schedule- that will surely cause a
problem if you go off it -- mostly occurs with stalled horses who do not
get enough hay-- as in empty gut and the good old hcl thing..
your right on - horse not in work needs no grain -- just grass and or
hay water.
so just feed them when you get to it.. a better plan and easy on you..
the ones that are working hard or not keeping on weight, get fed 2 x per
day.
how much i feed depends on the horse..
yes i would not use quest - i did prove it causes problems - gave omni
the stuff 2 times .. hives the second time much worse like major
swelling - gave him antihistime..
vet at fdc said next time it would kill him. i was lucky he came out of
it ok .. blood work shows normal liver now-- but wonder what it was
after the worming.
