This is exactly how I was taught to train horses. Hurry them as fast as
they can go without trotting them. I wasnt allowed to trot a horse for the
first 60 days of their training. I was taught by an old
cowboy/horsetrainer. I have taught many arabs to "gait" including my
appy/arab. Got quite a few qtr horses to gait too. My mule will gait and my
jack has a terrific running walk. I didnt "hurry" the show horses tho.
The horse show folks freak out when they see a horse gait. Something
"wrong" with that! gesa
