Hi Angie,
I am glad to hear that your horse is okay. Many years ago when I took a
farrier course at the local agriculture collage, we had to practice on
the feet of dead horses. You would be surprised at the number of horses
put down for punctures to the foot and coronet band. We found wire,
wood and stones in the feet and saw the resulting infections - that
often had healed over. I think a lot of horses died because their
owners waited too long to call the vet.
