Ice water

It is virtually impossible to get free-flowing iced
water in sufficient quantities at most of our away vet
checks. Most checks are in an inaccessible location
where the only water source is a pond or stream.

Ice boots are a nice compromise in some situations.

Well, there is no naturally free flowing ice water that I know of. Here's
what we do with the race horses.
put crushed ice in a bucket, add a mix of 1/2 water. 1/2 alcohol. Soak two
polo bandages per leg in the mix, then wrap the legs in these. Then pour the
remaining ice/water/alcohol over and through the bandages for no more than 20
minutes.
