HI Merryben,
At the preride meeting in France recently, Halvard Sommerseth, Chair of the
FEI Endurance Committee, announced that new rule had been rescinded. He
quoted the rule and said, "Cross it out!" We hope to be provided with a
summary of the discussions and decisions of the FEI Endurance Committee
meeting that took place during the May 6th preride in the very near future.
Best Regards,
Lori

This is actually a rule that was passed by FEI and went into effect at the
first of the year. Between the time you cross the finish line and your post
ride check you are allowed to IV the horse with fluids. The theory is to
start rehydrating them immediately. This has nothing to do with AERC
International and the committee was going to object to this new ruling.
However, there is not much chance of FEI changing the rule. I may not have
this exactly correct but the part about allowing IV's prior to the check is
true. Maryben
