I think urban legends are great!  First of all, it takes one real
clever person to dream up one that sounds sufficiently plausible for so
many people to pass it on.  Second of all, once they are revealed,
they are generally pretty funny, either because once you know them for
false you can see the cleverness of them, or else because people would
not see the stupidity of them, no matter how stupid they are.
