RE: Re: weight division points
Once again I say please realize that the original formers of this rule went
through the same discussions. Much time was spent on the rationale. If we
change the rules on a whim we will never have a stable base. The rule as
originally written has worked quite well up to this point.
I will agree it is not perfect! But then no rule is ever perfect! Unless you
can construct a better formula, and prove out that formula, you are not
doing anything except changing for the sake of change!
Yes, I speak a bit from pride of authorship. But that authorship has
withheld the test of a fair number of years. I again ask that you discuss
this change with those associated with the original rule establishment.
And also, AERC Board, remember those times when you have had to make
retractions because of spurious, of the moment decisions with out regard to
precedent.

Steph,
Randy, Vonita and I have been discussing this also.
Though I'm not for "fixing something that isn't broke" and not certain it
needs change, I have a solution that might work for everyone.
If 11 riders are needed for full points, then make it THREE in each wt
division for full points. This is attainable for small rides, and it makes
sense...3 x 4 = 12...close to the 11 number needed to start.
