Up and Standing

How fellow Riders!!
Well, the horses and I are finally out of bed and
actually able to works again. During Christmas the
boys came down with a really bad case of an unknown
sickness. Their symptoms included being lathargic,
high fever, runny stool, not wanting to eat, laying
down, and colic. 
We caught it in the early signs, but still had a tough
time. Sam kept going down, and we had a hard time
keeping him up. All we could do is just keep walking
them. Thunder came out of it okay, but has coliced
before so we have to watch him. Now their appetites
are back up, and the antibiotics really helped. 
Last week I was in bed w/ a fever, nausiated stomach,
and migraine headaches. The coughing is still here,
but we are all much better.
Today Sam and I went for a ride in the Snow. Its
gorgeous out, and probably not going to stay, but I'm
thankful for the break from the rain. 
Everyone, wathc out for this but with your horses, its
traveling pretty bad around the Oregon Coast, and one
of our friends horses died because it was too late. It
was a pregnant mare, 4 months, and aborted just before
dying.
