Re: Re: Possums
That's why we loved our pyranees. He never hurt a fly but just his presence
was enough to deter most problems. If that wasn't enough, his bark would
usually end the rest. Also, he was very gentle with our kids and he never
ran the livestock! And we had a pretty good menagerie for a few years
(chickens, roosters, milk goats, sheep, cattle, horses, dogs, barn cats and
miscellaneous other critters from time to time) We'd love to get another
one but I haven't really looked since we put the last one down. I really
should look into it now that we're in the mountains, the horses really need
an early warning system although I'm not sure a pyranees would be much of a
match for a mountain lion or bear! Our heeler seems to be pretty bold.
She's a pretty tough cookie and doesn't back down usually unless she senses
that they really aren't serious. She's not aggressive but won't run away
either.
