No, your memory is accurate. The horse is running down the hill, definitely
on the forehand, and while the head bouncing off the butt is a bit of an
exaggeration, there is a bit of that impression. The guy IS reasonably
upright, but the terrain is steep and with the strung-out horse, his head and
the horse's butt are not far apart. It is a wonderful piece of
cinematography, but not a particularly good lesson in "how to do it."
