Re: RC: dishy faces

Hi Toni
Don't ask me about teacup noses and dishy dishes; I have Russians and
outcrosses and none of mine are what they want in halter classes now--
the extremes. I really don't know where that look came from nor the
giraff necks that were winning (and actually still are) in the halter
classes.
Hal won halter in the late 80's before there was such an extreme look
required. When Jeff Wonnell saw him in 94 he insisted we have one of the
top trainers look at him at Scottsdale as Jeff thought he was
magnificent (no, the horse). 16.2, typey, great hip. perfect legs. I
tried to tell Jeff that times had changed and he wasn't what they were
looking for and Jeff wouldn't believe it. So we had this young hotshot
come to our stalls and look at Hal. Out of all the things Hal had going
for him, do you want to know what he said? "Well his ears are short, but
they aren't tipped enough." That was it-- and walked off.
So I am definitely not the one to ask about extreme look.

gets to the end, the faster it goes. Smell the roses!
