I have to emphasize:  People in authority have no such
excuses.  If they rely on excuses, they shouldn't be allowed to
carry weapons.  Lives are at stake.   Anyone who might
have the least problem distinguishing a bunch of drunken teenagers from a
camp full of sleeping endurance riders is not responsible enough to be
wearing a badge and a gun.  

Truly it is not easy being a cop.  But the job is voluntary.
