Kidney failure update

  Just wanted to update everyone who e-mailed me about Buloo, my little mare 
who was diagnosed with chronic renal failure a few weeks ago.
  It's been a very tough time. It became impossible to keep weight on her, 
she became very weak and tired and I couldn't get her to eat anything but her 
grass hay. After lots of vet bills and trailering to CSU in mid-April, Buloo 
chose her time to say goodbye.
  I put her down on Tuesday. We spent the whole day together that day, with 
her resting her muzzle in the side of my neck, breathing in my ear. She was 
so quiet and ready to go.
  I appreciated everyone's interest and cheers and that helped us keep going 
for a bit, but it was just time.
  She was such a gift to me and taught me so much about what is possible. She 
was my one-and-only horse of a lifetime. But I picture her in some wonderful, 
warm place with no bugs and grass that's belly high...with her filly that I 
had to put down three years ago.
