I have found that burros and mules are just about like horses but smarter.  
You can't put anything over on them.  They also live longer and are hardier.  
That is why Leroy did so well on the GAHR.  Mules will exist on stuff that a 
horse would starve on and will gain weight on forage that horses lose weight 
on.  The horses always died first in the covered wagon trains....mb
