Lexington, Kentucky ………………………………………..April 24, 2000
The Kentucky Horse Council has announced plans for a major equine exhibition, the National Exposition of Equine Transportation (NEET), to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park, March 9-11, 2001
. The National Exposition of Equine Transportation, (NEET), will highlight all aspects of equine transportation, from international shipping to moving your horse to the next farm. It will involve manufacturers and retailers of horse vans, trailers, trucks, and recreational vehicles. Also participating will be commercial horse haulers, including airlines, licensing agencies, federal agencies and more. Rounding out the vendor area will be supplemental industries, such as tack, feed, matting and such businesses. All you will need to move your horse in any way imaginable!
NEET will include seminars on: legal issues, licensing requirements, selecting a shipper, selecting a trailer, training to load, and many other topics. There will also be an open competition, a huge “trail class,” involving the facilities of the Kentucky Horse Park, as well as loading.
Another competition will pit the skills of commercial drivers against one another in a “road-e-O” obstacle course, and amateurs in backing and hooking up, etc.
It is anticipated that many NEET specials will be offered for sale to the public by manufacturers and retailers of equine transportation equipment.
Complete details area not yet available, but interested parties are urged to contact Liza Holland, Executive Director of the Kentucky Horse Council, to be put on the mailing list. As plans unfold they will be announced through the equine press, and those on the mailing list will be kept up-to-date.
